Since Human Resources Approach pays attention to the importance of human, especially Hawthorne Studies prove that the informal organization has a significant impact on the employee, more and more scholars and entrepreneurs have paid close attention to the effect of informal relationship on the staff behavior and organization behavior. As people spend more and more time at work, the workplace friendship has attracted more and more attention. Under different cultural background, the results of these foreign studies are not necessarily applicable to Chinese. Even these studies are useful in china, but there are so many differences between new generation staff and the old. These studies are not necessarily applicable to the new generation staff. Therefore, the article discusses the relationship between workplace friendship and job performance of the new generation staff under Chinese culture. At the beginning of the research, we select the popular scale with literature review to measure workplace friendship and job performance on the basis of previous research. Then, the study adopts project analysis, reliability analysis and exploratory factor analysis to revise the scale. Then we use factor analysis, variance analysis and correlation analysis to test the hypothesis. The confirmatory factor analysis result shows that the workplace friendship of new generation staff can be divided in two dimensions:friendship opportunities and friendship prevalence. The Variance analysis result shows that the difference of workplace friendship in different gender, year of birth, work experience, nature of organization are not significant. The difference of workplace friendship opportunities in different educational level is not significant. The difference of workplace friendship prevalence in different educational level is significant. The results of correlation analysis show that the affection of workplace friendship on job performance is significant. The friendship opportunities positively affect tast performance, interpersonal promotion and job dedication, friendship prevalence positively affects interpersonal promotion and job dedication, negatively affects task perfoumance.At last, the paper explains the results with hierarchy of needs theory and job characteristics model theory. The physiological and safety needs of new generation staff basically have been met, workplace friendship, as a high-level need, will be the dominant need until it has been satisfied. The workplace friendship will affect job performance through the experience on the key psychological state. The high quality of workplace friendship may lead to organizational problem, and it has a negative impact on the job performance. According to the research, workplace friendship is an important part of the senior need of new generation staff. Enterprise can provide a lot of opportunities for the development of workplace friendship in order to improve job performance, but the negative effects of friendship prevalence on job performance must be considered. Good results can be achieved only by reasonablely and correctly guiding the development of workplace friendship.
