Agriculture is the fundamental industry in China, the development of agricultural economy is related to the overall target of our country’s modernization. With the increasing tendency about science and technology on economic growth’s contribution, every country tries to apply science and technology to boost agricultural economy’s competition. However, without the strong support of the investment in science and technology, the scientific level can’t be improved. Especially, the investment’s structure and level in agriculture will influence directly agriculture’s long-term development. Scientific input is the source and motivation of science and technology’s development, effective scientific input can bring the improvement in science and technology, then it can serve in economic development. This paper is on the basis of our country’s agricultural scientific input and agricultural economy’s current situation, on terms of agricultural scientific input, I try to research scientific input’s influence on agricultural economy.Firstly, this paper states the mechanism of science and technology input and economic growth systematically, and concludes that the science and technology input has an indirect role in promoting economic growth theoretically. This paper also describes the situation of science and technology input and agricultural economy, and it summarizes the main problems in our country. Secondly, this paper adopts statistical data of31provinces of China between2003-2012, combined with the panel data model, the paper studies the influence of agricultural science and technology personnel input and R&D fund input on the agricultural economic growth, and at the same time, this paper also analyzes the contribution of other factors, such as fixed assets investment in agricultural, the crop planting area, and agricultural employment to agricultural economic growth. Finally, we get these conclusions as follows:During2003-2012, agricultural capital investment, cultivated area square agricultural employment number, and the investment of science and Technology (both human and finance) has a strong relationship with agricultural GDP; The model gets through the stationarity and co-integration test, all the variables are the first single, and all those related variables and agricultural economic growth have a long-term stable equilibrium relationship; The related coefficient of the R&D funds to the agricultural GDP is0.19, so R&D funds have a positive effect on the growth of agricultural economy. The long-term elasticity of agricultural science and technology personnel to agricultural GDP is about0.10, so the agricultural science and technology personnel will promote the development of agricultural economy. But considering those two elasticity coefficients are both small, the role of science and technology in promoting agricultural economic growth is not fully drew out.According to the analysis of current situation and empirical analysis results, this paper puts forward the following suggestions to promote the development of agricultural economy. Increase the agricultural science and technology investment to improve the agricultural science and technology investment structure; Improve agricultural investment environment, an expand financial channels; Increase investment in agricultural science and technology personnel to improve the service system of agricultural science and technology; Improve intellectual property rights protection system and agricultural science and technology innovation system to enhance the current situation of agricultural science and technology investment to make full use of science and technology in agricultural economic growth, and ultimately realize the modernization of agriculture.
