Schedule management is an important safeguard measure, usually being used to guarantee project’s smooth implementation in project management system. It exerts significant influences on the construction of a project. Currently, the overall schedule management application situation of domestic construction enterprises in the process of construction lacks scientificity. Almost all the construction companies regard schedule management as the main instrument to improve their own influence and construction efficiency. Liujiabu urban complex project as an important project in Anning district Lanzhou city commercial center construction, its main mission is not only limited within the city centre is given priority to with merchants of the formation of information chain, capital chain, chain project, but by complex construction establish the Aning district of modern business services framework system, optimize the center business environment, improve the urban infrastructure and living environment, promote upgrading of urban service function.Therefore, the companies undertaking Liujiabu urban complex project of Gansu Construction&Investment (Holdings) Group Corporation (GCIG for short) should also adopt scientific project management methods, and make scientific and effective project progress schedule as well as construction control measures to guarantee the project being implemented smoothly. This has important practical significance for the research of the project’s effective progress management. This paper first summarizes the problems existing in the schedule management of the project by combining project schedule management theory with actual engineering project. On this basis, it further analyzes and sums up various external conditions that may interfere the project’s smooth progress. Moreover, using network planning technique, it formulates the project’s construction schedule, including definition of active project, job sequencing, time and resource estimation, and formulation and optimization of progress plan. According to network diagram and Gantt chart, author realize making the schedule management for Liujiabu urban complex project of GCIG, so that it could create mature prerequisites for the project’s success. In addition, it also formulates the monitoring system, safeguard measures and dynamic update strategy during its progress plan’s implementation process.Though project schedule optimization, this paper manages to establish a set of systematic and practical project progress management plan and control procedure for Liujiabu urban complex project of GCIG, and get a whole process monitoring for this project. Therefore, it has a relatively high inference value for the project schedule management of similar projects.
