In recent years, the rapid development of high-speed railway in China,to a certain extent, can alleviate the shortage of transport products. At the same time, with the characteristics of large volume, speed advantage, punctuality and so on,the high-speed railway has affected the development of the air passenger line with different degrees. Some routes lost passenger flow, some flights canceled, and even some routes have been outage. With the gradual opening and operation of the "four vertical and four horizontal" high-speed rail network(such as the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway,Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, etc.)and the proposal of "eight vertical and eight horizontal horizontal" plans in the "mid-and long-term railway network planning",more large-scale high-speed railway network will be built and have been put into operation. In such a fierce competition of high-speed rail, civil aviation will be more deeply affected. In this context,it is significant to study the impact of high-speed rail on civil aviation passenger transport.First of all, this paper describes the development status and regionalization characteristics of China's high-speed rail and civil aviation, and on the basis of existing studies, makes in-depth analysis and comparison of the technical and economic characteristics of the two.In terms of theoretical analysis, this paper discusses the mechanism of the impact of high-speed rail on civil aviation passenger service, and describes the dynamic evolution process of substitution and complementary of high-speed rail to civil aviation passenger service.First of all,the emergence of high-speed railway has changed the pattern of the existing passenger transport market, and has an impact on the utility of the passengers pursuing the maximum utility. Then, this paper analyzes the factors that influence the utility of passengers through two dimensions, horizontal and vertical.Under the combined effect of many factors, the influence of high-speed rail on civil aviation passenger transport shows the characteristics of overlapping market competition and complementary advantage market in different distance and different regions. In the empirical analysis, this paper constructs fixed effect model and difference in difference model, and makes an empirical analysis of the impact of high-speed rail on the overall impact of civil aviation passenger transport, regional impact, and the impact of different distances. In the study of the overall impact and regional impact of the whole country,we quantified the impact of the fare, time and frequency of high-speed rail on civil aviation, and the impact of high-speed railways on civil aviation in different years. In addition,in the regional impact,And the eastern, central and western regions of China. The characteristics of regionalization of the impact of high-speed railways on civil aviation are described. Finally, the main competitive distance between high-speed rail and civil aviation is empirically derived from the discretization of high-speed railways. In addition,in the regional impact, according to the East and Midwest of the city, the empirical analysis classified according to city belongs to the East and Midwest, depicts the regional characteristics of high iron civil aviation influence. Finally, through the discretization analysis of HSR time, the main competitive distance between HSR and civil aviation is obtained empirically. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)From the perspective of the mechanism of the impact of high-speed railway on civil aviation passenger service, there are both competition and cooperation in the high-speed rail and civil aviation in different scopes.(2)In China, the impact of high-speed railways on civil aviation is significant and negative. The main factors influencing the civil aviation are high-speed rail time,high-speed rail fares and high-speed rail frequencies.(3)The impact of high-speed railways on civil aviation is related to the area in which the cities are located, and the impact on the eastern-eastern routes is even more significant. This effect is also significant and mostly above the national average for most of the eastern to the central or western regions. However, for the Midwest-East,Midwest-Midwest,it has not been found that the HSR has a significant impact on civil aviation.(4)The impact of different opening years of high speed rail have different impacts on civil aviation. On the whole, with the increase of opening years, the influence increases first and then decreases.(5)The empirical results show that the main competitive distance between high-speed railway and civil aviation is 500km-1350km given the speed of 250-300km/h.
