Manufacturing’s development level is an important measurement index forthe whole country’s development level, while the manufacturing sector is themajor industry of fossil fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in globalindustries. In response to global warming and implementation of sustainabledevelopment plans, most manufacturing enterprises’ operational objective isgradually from the original pursuit of a single economic value into the pursuit ofeconomic value, social value and ecological value. Thus, many scholars putforward the concept of leapfrogging development mode. Currently, participationin global value chain has become one important form of applying late-moveradvantages to achieve leapfrogging development of low-carbon technology fordeveloping countries. Although the manufacturing sector in the productionprocess create huge economic value for our country, the huge amount of carbondioxide emissions also destroys our ecological environment. As low-carbontechnology and innovation capability in our country still lag behind, China’smanufacturing industry is difficult to break the long-term low-end lockedposition of global value chain and jump to high value-added links. Thus,participating in global value chain to climb high-end value chain links, makingfull use of late-mover advantages of low-carbon technology innovation toenhance the level of low-carbon technologies, building leapfrogging developmentpattern of low-carbon technologies to achieve leapfrogging development oflow-carbon technologies and sustainable development of social development willbe the development direction of China’s manufacturing industry in the future.In this context, from the third chapter to fifth chapter, this paper mainlyanalyzes the impact of embedding global value chain on leapfrogging development of low-carbon technology in China’s manufacturing industry andthe construction of leapfrogging development modes of low-carbon technology.Based on the mechanism of the impact of embedding global value chain onleapfrogging development of low-carbon technology in China’s manufacturingindustry, making theoretical analysis to global value chain and manufacturing’scurrent situation and problems of low-carbon technologies, this paper constructsthe conceptual model of the impact of embedding global value chain onleapfrogging development of low-carbon technology in China’s manufacturingindustry. And then based on the conceptual model building, in the fourth chapterof the thesis, based on structural equation model of the formation of theconceptual model’s theory assumes that the path through structural equationmodeling to test the various assumptions and elements of an empirical analysis ofembedding global value chain to our country manufacturing industry effects ofleapfrogging development of low-carbon technology.Finally, based on theory analysis and empirical analysis, the last chapterbuilds leapfrogging development patterns of low-carbon technologies of China’smanufacturing based on global value chain, propose targeted policyrecommendations with a theoretical basis for using embedding global value chainto push leapfrogging development of low-carbon technologies of China’smanufacturing directly and indirectly effectively and enhancing the importantrole of late-mover advantages to push leapfrogging development of low-carbontechnologies of China’s manufacturing.
