As global environmental problems and public knowledge keep accumulating, consumers are increasingly concerned about resources, environment, health, andsecurity, so green consumption has become one of the primary standards forhuman consumption, and “green” strategy has become the most preferred trendfor enterprise development. Green supply chain management, an important partof green competitiveness, are drawing more and more attention in academic andindustrial circles. In the early1990s, the chain supermarket began to spring up allover China. After ten years of rapid development, the chain supermarket hasdominated the domestic market, thus exerting increasingly strong pull forupstream industries and evident impact on downstream consumer groups. Theimplementation of green supply chain management enables the chainsupermarket to fully meet the growing green consumption demand, and in themeanwhile, the chain supermarket can enhance their competitive capacity andsecure competitive edge by reducing procurement and transportation costs, hencewin at intense competitions and achieve development in the long run. Aneffective performance evaluation constitutes one crucial segment to improve thedevelopment of enterprise green supply chain. Therefore, the study of the chainsupermarket’ green supply chain performance evaluation problems is not onlyquite necessary, but also very meaningful.Firstly, the paper collates and summarizes relevant research resultsconcerning the green supply chain and green supply chain performanceevaluation at home and abroad, explaining what is the chain supermarket greensupply chain and analyzing internal and external factors which influence theperformance of the chain supermarket green supply chain. Secondly, startingfrom principles of index selection and structural characteristics of the chainsupermarket green supply chain, as well as the green supply chain balanced scorecard theory and the SCOR model of the chain supermarket green supplychain, the paper attempts to construct a performance evaluation index system forthe chain supermarket green supply chain, which consists of five aspects:financial values, customer service, business procedures, internal learning, andgreen environment, and then the C2R model and BC2model of data envelopmentanalysis (DEA) method are used to conduct an initial evaluation. Finally, basedon the data of five major chain supermarket obtained from fieldwork, the validityand correctness of the method are verified, and besides advice and measures toimprove the chain supermarket green supply chain performance are put forward.
