Research On Professional Technicians’Entrepreneurial Team Competency And Action Learning Strategy Under The Internet Context

In the Internet age, the dynamicly changing external context and the fuzzily complex professional technical tasks make it difficult for professional technician to grasp and use entrepreneurial opportunities, integrating a variety of resources to create value as an individual. In this case, more and more organizations establish entrepreneurial teams, in which most members are professional technicians, to deal with the external challenges. Therefore, the study on the professional technicians’ entrepreneurial team competency has both theoretical significance and practical value.This study explores the competency structure of entrepreneurial team of professional technicians, verifying the influence of features of situation and professional technical tasks on it, discussing the action learning strategy on the relationship between the team’s competence and team performance through case study interviewing with8entrepreneurial team leaders and questionnaire study with221professional technicians, leading to these major conclusions:First of all, the competency of entrepreneurial team of professional technicians includes goal and role ability and coordination and accountability ability. Among them, goal and role ability includes three elements, which is goal commitment, role adaptation and change leader, while coordination and accountability also include three elements, which is communication and coordination, team thinking, task accountability.Second, the feature of context under internet context includes value variety and internet virtuality, and both of these features have significant influence on the competency of entrepreneurial team of professional technicians and on the features of professional technical task.Third, two of three features of professional technical task of entrepreneurial team of professional technicians have significant influence of the competency of entrepreneurial team:feature of teaming and innovation have significant influence on goal and role ability and coordination accountability ability of entrepreneurial team of professional technicians, while virtualization has no influence on the competency.Fourth, two dimensions of competency of technicians entrepreneurial teams can greatly improve task performance and contextual performance, and compency play a partly mediating role on the relationship between contextual features and team performance. goal and role ability fully mediates the relationship between value variety and task performance, and the relationship between internet virtuality and contextual performance. It partly mediates the relationship between value variety and contextual performance, and the relationship between internet virtuality and task performance. On the other side, coordination accountability partly mediates value variety and task performance, internet virtuality and task performance. It fully mediates the relationship between internet virtually and contextual performance.Fifth, action learning strategy partly moderates the influence of technicians entrepreneurial team’competency on its performance. Action learning strategy positively moderates the influence of goal and role ability on task performance, goal and role ability on contextual performance, and coordination accountability ability on contextual performance separately. But it has no moderating effect on the influence of accountability ability on task performance.
