The construction industry is one of the pillar industries of our nationaleconomy.It makes great progress after the reform and opening,Meanwhile, due to thegreat numbers of construction enterprises, unreasonable industrial structure, low levelof technology application and highly intense competition, many of these enterprisesare stuck in the low-level price competition. Thus, how to choose and implement ascientific competition strategy in face of the complex market environment and how tobuild their unique competitive advantages have become urgent questions in need ofan answer for most construction enterprises.The study of Guangxi Hua Ye Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. competitionstrategy aims to seek for the enterprise development direction and gain a competitiveadvantage.It occupies one corner of Guangxi Provinceļ¼Œand gets full developmen after thereform.But in recent years, it is difficult to effectively expand the market.It urgently needs clearstrategic development ideas, scientific competitive strategics,and formulation of sound strategicplans.Taking Guangxi Hua Ye Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. as the study object,this paper tries to analyze its external environment, industry environment, internalenvironment, and its strengths, weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and threats itfaces by using relevant theories in strategic management and the basic framework andanalytical methods of the strategic studies. The strategic positioning and competingobjective are then identified by adopting the tools of strategic analysis and choice.This paper holds that it should try to catch the opportunities, make use of its advantages, avoid risks and differentiate itself from its peers in terms of projectquality, full service, working efficiency and construction technologies. it shouldfollow a competitive strategy that focuses on differentiation with some advantages. Atthe same time, the paper points out that the company should take actions to realize thecompetition strategy in its management strategy, marketing, technologicaldevelopment, human resources, brand building, and funds management etc. Also, thepaper places emphasis on the building up of the strategic leadership and cultivation ofvarious advantages in terms of its organizational structure, corporate culture, andhuman resources so as to provide an effective safeguard for the implementation of thecompetition strategy.Few studies have been done on the competition strategies of small andmedium-sized construction enterprise. Based on the study on the case of GuangxiHua Ye Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., this paper hopes to help these enterprisesto improve their core competitiveness, keep the competitive edge, enhance theirability to resist risks and finally realize sustainable development.At the same time,thisarticle has some instructional meaning for other construction companies tomake its own competition strategy.
