With the development of the society, the number of education and training institutions increases dramatically. More and more teachers are suffering from psychological problems. The degree of these problems varies considerably; however, they more or less affect the teachers’ teaching quality, working and daily life. At present, the assistance to the teachers’ mental health provided by the education training institutions is far from enough. In the author’s opinion, establishing an effective and systematic support system will not only promote teachers’ mental health, but also improve the quality of education and training. Furthermore, it will infuse new energy into the institutions and it is beneficial to the sustainable development of the institutions. I reviewed the literatures and found that the education and training institutions mainly focused on rules and regulations in teacher management, whereas mental health attracted relatively little attention. Some of the research was performed simply in a psychological perspective. In this paper, I will tackle the teachers’ mental health issues in the aspects of management and creating a good working atmosphere. Based on the existing theories such as teacher stress management model and Employee Assistance Program(EAP), I propose a model of teacher mental health support system. I investigated the teachers’ mental health through questionnaire and interview and found problems in the support system. I analyzed the cause of the problems and proposed improving methods. The results suggested that at least 6 aspects affect teachers’ work status. The supervisors of the education and training institutions were mainly affected by the pressure of administrating the team, the teaching research and development teachers were affected by career development and the fast updating of knowledge and educational technology. To the majority of the teachers, increasing salary and welfare are the most needed. Aiming at the problems of working status of the teachers, I proposed to provide appropriate lectures, training courses and to seek psychological counseling. I also designed EAP plans for different teacher groups, such as the supervisors, the teaching research and development, and the teachers. The plans consist of the principles of executing, preparations, and detailed executive procedures. I hope this paper will perfect the mental health support system in education training institutions and will improve teachers’ mental health.
