With the degree of environmental degradation of human life becoming deeper gradually, environmental benefits is becoming the standard used to measure all walks of life’s business activities, especially for manufacturing enterprises, the environmental benefits during production are matters of concern. In this paper, taking Fushun Special Steel Co., the second steel plant’s 42 chrome molybdenum steel actual production process for the background, research multi-stage production- inventory controlling model considering carbon tax and carbon trading mechanism. This paper’s main contents as below:(1) Based on the analysis of the characteristics of production process, from the perspective of multi-stage, the production process is refined according to the production phase between the horizontal and vertical extent of the association relationship and constraints. Then build the base model of this paper, multi-stage production-inventory control model.(2) From an environmental perspective, the carbon emission factors’ impacts of production-inventory are taken into account multi-stage production-inventory controlling models considering carbon tax and carbon trading mechanism is been designed. Different carbon tax and carbon trading price volatility are considered to make the model more in line with the real situation of the simulation.(3) This paper designs the generate-tree algorithm and transform the complicated process of solving into dynamic traversal process of tree. Provide a feasible method of solving the model for multiple stage production - inventory control problems.A numerical example is designed to illustrate the rationality of the differential carbon tax. Compare the change of carbon emissions for no carbon constraint, carbon tax and carbon trading profits circumstances and analysis the fluctuation in prices of carbon trading and show that carbon trading is more suitable for as a large-scale manufacturing enterprise under low carbon production constraint mechanisms. As final, this paper shows that self-directed reduction is feasible and is beneficial to the development of their own behavior.
