In 2003, "Countryside, Agriculture, Peasant", the three dimensional rural issues were firstly presented in Chinese government’s annual work report. After that, they became the very important problems for the government. Because, there are 1.3 billion people in China, and the number of peasants is more than 900 million. So the three dimensional rural issues have become the bottleneck of social development in China, and solving the three dimensional rural issues is the key for constructing the socialist harmonious society.The pro-poor tourism has been proved to be an effective way to solve the poverty problem in tourism resource-rich regions. The residents in rural areas are the important stakeholders of pro-poor tourism, whose actual benefit from the pro-poor tourism, perceptions and attitudes toward the pro-poor tourism have important effect on the improvement of pro-poor tourism. And the residents’profit, perceptions and attitudes are also the important manifestation of pro-poor tourism benefit. This thesis takes Dangshan County Guangming Village, a poor rural village in north of Anhui province, as a case to investigate the pro-poor tourism synthesis benefit for rural poverty areas. Every family is a survey unit. From a microscopic perspective, the residents’ real benefit at the different stages of pro-poor tourism development is analyzed. Meanwhile, the perceptions of the residents to the economic benefit, social benefit and environmental benefit of pro-poor tourism are investigated and analyzed. As a consequence, the effect of pro-poor tourism for the Guangming village and the issues during the process of pro-poor tourism are presented. Then, some improved proposals are given. Through the case study, the main emphasis in the operation process of pro-poor tourism is summarized. In the end, the drawbacks of this investigation are also pointed out. The work of this thesis gives some inspirations to poverty reduction in rural areas and some directions of the development of pro-poor tourism.
