The development of automobile manufacture industry in C hina is fast, the domestic market competition of world’s famous automobile brands is increasingly fierce, international automobile brands have accelerated the process of local production. It is the key of improving competitiveness of joint venture to complete project of new model production in high quality and efficiency and to seize market niche further. Advanced project management pattern is security to realize this process. The domestic automobile market develops fast recently, it has important theoretical and practical significance to research project management pattern of new model pre-production of automobile joint venture for domestic enterprises reference.Discuss scientific connotation, general processes and methods of project management pattern in modern project management. Taking new model pre-production project of HCBM Automobile Co. as an example, clear the background and overview of the automobile joint venture and the project; in view of project organization, project schedule, project cost, project quality and project risks, analyze the project management pattern and achieve the project management pattern which could be extended: adhere to the principle of matrix organization, emphasize the key and necessity of appointing project manager, and building project leader group and project team; taking Gantt chart as basic method to schedule the project, make specific counter measurement and control system to response project change; define project budget with composite cost method, and control the project cost by combining methods of activity cost, target cost and whole life cost; make project quality plan by adopting quality benchmarking method, guarantee project quality with quality check method; identify the project risk based on historical experience mainly, assess the project risk by the loss expectation method, improve risk response process system continuously. Based on initial results of the project of HCBM, evaluate project management pattern qualitatively and its advantages are as follows: integrity, complementary, and rights balance and monitoring mechanisms of the project organization; detailed plan, cooperative and project promotion ways and standardized program change process; the accuracy of project cost management; and rigorous attitude of quality and risk. Its disadvantages are shown as: low efficiency of communication, too singer schedule method and so many conflicts, over-reliance on the parent company, and paranoid quality requirements. The corresponding improvement measures are pointed out: increase team building and cultural training; add to network graph to schedule the project; establish conflict standards; optimize the relationship between quality, time and cost; enrich risk identification database and sign risk protection contract.
