Naval ships and related equipment manufacture in China belong to the project type, which is of high quality, variety, short delivery cycle characteristics and various equipment suppliers are facing withfinishing the product in a shorter time and of higher quality.The production schedule management poses a big challenge. Actual survey shows that more than 60% of the ships and equipments manufacturing exist delay, adjustment should be carried out through frequently working overtime. Leading to the production with a higher cost, the quality management and manufacturing schedule management have more difficulties.It’s Urgent for naval ships and related equipment to look for manufacturing schedule management methods, to improve the on t ime delivery rate, reducing the manufacturing cost.This paper analyzesthe project management status of a equipment manufacturing enterprise, making the assembleprocess ofthe ship main forcing controlsystem project as the research object, collecting and analyzing the classification of the product assemble task, working hours, assemble sequenceand resource. Analyzing the design changing in assembly process, low efficiency using of manufacturing resources, unreasonableproduction schedule arrangement and lacking of information system support, whichcauses project tardiness. Then, the paper builda schedule management systembased on the critical chain method, identifying the key chain in the process of the main forcing control system assemble, set up the buffer, and applying to the real production. Effectively improve the utilization rate of resources and products on time delivery rate. On this basis, analyzing the demand of the project schedule management software, design the process of software, database and interface, developing project schedule management software based on the critical chain method. Its functionincludes the projects deliverydate, the project schedule, the table of working hours and the module of assembling schedule gantt chart, supportingrelated department staff to query the schedule adjustment and implementation.Practice shows that the combination of the critical chain method and project schedule management software can effectively improve assemble process of the ship main forcing system on time delivery rate, reducing the waste of resources caused by tardiness and planning adjustment, and effectively reducing the manufacturing cost.
