Research On Quality Management Of Toy Enterprise Based On HACCP

"Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point"(HACCP) is an important method of food quality and safety management. This method analyzed the food hazard, controlled some particular key points in producing process, and managed to keep food related hazardous factors within the scope of the standard. It’s an effective way to help food producers to improve food safety. It is worth noting that the quality and safety of children’s toys, as a special consumer goods, should not be ignored, and toy manufacturers required the same method to control their quality.The study examined a large amount of literature, compared the food with the children’s toy, and turned out that the two fields were highly similar to each other in hazard nature, hazard analysis method, and so on. It’s compatibility in terms of personnel, machines, materials, methods, environment, testing, between the Quality management system and HACCP system by compatibility analysis. To conclusion, HACCP applied in the toy’s manufactory is feasible.In this study, we applied HACCP management system to the toy’s manufactory. We analyzed hazard, identified key points according to the production process, settled critical limits, established procedures monitoring key points, designed corrective measures, developed verification procedures and formed relative documents. At last, we settled up the general quality safety management system.In this study, we chose a factory which produces toys as an example. We developed a plan which guided the factory to implement HACCP management system. We designed nine critical control points, configured the appropriate critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions and verification procedures. Meanwhile, we also selected three significant hazards which were phthalates, small parts and needles, assessed the effect of the HACCP system. Results showed that three hazards were significantly controlled.To sum up, the study solved theoretical problem which is how to apply HACCP system in the toy’s manufactory. The effect of empirical research is also ideal. The further direction of the study was discussed. Furthermore, the results were templates for the relative researches of improving the quality and safety management in toy’s manufactory.
