The Research On The Relationship Between The Cluster Network Structural Features And The Firm Innovative Performance

First, with the in-depth study of industrial cluster, scholars have found that clustered firms do not share the benefits of knowledge spillovers equally, and firms have a large difference in their innovation performance in cluster. Secondly, exploring mechanism that the firms form their innovation performance has more practical meaning for the smooth realization of upgrading industrial clusters.So the author decides to study the industrial clusters deeply. The author applies network analysis methods to explore the mechanism of forming the firm’s innovation performance, and explains the reason for difference in firm’s innovation performance by syncretizing the industrial cluster theory, network organization theory and knowledge transfer theory. So there are four questions. What affect does the cluster’s network structural features have on the firm’s innovation performance? How does the cluster’s network structural features effect on the knowledge resource acquiring? What affect does the knowledge resource acquiring have on the firm’s innovation performance?Does the knowledge resource acquiring play an intermediary role between the cluster’s network structural features the firm’s innovation performance?The author built on the model of the relationship among the cluster’s network structural features, knowledge resource acquisition and firm’s innovation performance,proposed 14 basic assumptions through theoretical analysis,and went to Jinzhou city to carry out a large scale questionnaire survey,and 150 valid questionnaires were collected. The dissertation processed the sample data by using spss that it is a kind of statistical analysis software. And by applying factor analysis and regression analysis statistical methods, the dissertation tested the relationships among the variables in the conceptual model and the corresponding hypothesis. According to the empirical testing,this dissertation drawn out 4 conclusions.(1)The cluster’s network structural features have a significant role in promoting innovative performance.(2)The different cluster’s network structural features bring about different knowledge resource acquisition. Network size, network site, network openness, relationship strength and relationship quality are positively related to knowledge resource acquisition。(3)Clustered firm’s knowledge resource acquisition is a key factor that may influence its innovation performance. The clustered firms that can access large quantity knowledge resource from its innovation network may show excellent innovation performance.(4) The clustered firm’s knowledge resource acquisition can mediate between the cluster’s network structural features and innovation performance, cluster’s network structural features will influence the firm’s innovation performance by the means of its effect on firm’ s knowledge resource acquisition.According to the results of empirical analysis, the dissertation put forward the related suggestions from the perspective of government and enterprises, and pointed out the deficiency and future prospects of the research.
