There is an old saying in China, called "food is god for the people, grain regards land as its root", which shows that land is how important to the farmers’survival. However, with the prosperity of society and the growth of off-farm opportunities, farmers’choices of employment, lifestyle and the dependency on land gradually changed. In addition, the drawbacks of the small-peasant model of agricultural productivity are gradually emerging. So, the demand for farmers to transfer land gradually produced. Then, countries in the different areas of China have undertaken to explore different modes of land transfer. Practice has suggested that the land transferring is an effective way to get the optimal configuration of rural land resource, to improve the agricultural productivity and to increase the farmers’income. Therefore, ascertaining what factors affect the farmers’behavior of land transferring, and thus taking appropriate measures to carry forward the land-trans progress to promote China’s industrialization of agriculture have a very important practical significance. Before doing the empirical research, this article reviewed the current researches on land transferring. Based on the review and the field surveys, the writer determined the research perspective and the research thought of the study. The writer regards intermediary organizations as a new perspective of this study and attempts to test the role of the intermediary organizations in land transfer with econometric models. In addition, the writer wonders what factors, specially, affect the land transfer besides the intermediary organizations and the influencing direction of the corresponding factors. The empirical research is divided into three steps:First, analyze the basic characteristics of the farmers and resource endowment, the market environment and the current situation of land transferring of the sample area in detail, and describe the cross relations between influencing factors and farmers’land-trans. It lays the foundation for the next quantitative analysis from the microscopic perspective. Next, find the exact factors that affect the farmers’ land-trans behavior (that is to say land transfer or not) and the degree of the farmers’ land-trans (that is to say the ratio between transferred land area and the farmers’ own land area) by using Logistic model and Tobit model; And make comfortably sure about the influencing direction of the influencing factors. Last, give some policy recommendations according to the description of the status quo and the econometric analysis, such as cultivating endogenous intermediary organizations of land-trans and new agricultural operating entities, actively; clearing and standardizing the responsibility range of the village collective in the process of land-trans; enhancing the education and skills training for the farmers.
