Research On The Mechanism And Effect Of Tourism Poverty Alleviation In Rural Areas

This paper aims to investigate the importance of tourism in poverty alleviation,which is based on study in Gaocheng village, Anhua, a Hunan national poverty county and the core spot of Tea-Horse Road, a 4A scenic attraction, using the system theory and stakeholder mechanism and focus group discussion and in-depth interview. The results are as follows: firstly, perfect rural tourism poverty alleviation mechanism should not only include dynamic system, decision-making system and benefit distribution system, but also should include supervision and evaluation system;Secondly, government which is the key to the well operation of the poverty alleviation mechanism plays an important role in these poverty alleviation systems; Thirdly, the poverty alleviation effect made by tourism industry should be made economically,socially and environmentally and highly felt by local residence.The significance of this research is to study the poverty alleviating mechanism of an administrative village and to analyze its poverty alleviating mechanism from the perspective of the poor. What is more, this paper enriches the theoretical framework of poverty alleviating mechanism. Hopefully, the result of this research can be applied to other impoverished areas, which are similar to Gaocheng village.
