When do internet and finance, which have no relation with each other, is to unite and show their vitality that individual industry lacked? Recently, the first world-recognized internet financial rudiment is No.1 safety bank (SFNB) established in Atlanta, USA, on October 18,1995. However, the concept of "Internet finance" in our country puts forward late. The theorists made 2013 as the first year of the Internet finance. In this year, the representative model of internet finance, such as third-party payment, P2P network loan, crowdfunding, network insurance, online broker and other model passed the road of rapid development from confirming the financial platform framework to springing up the platform. What is more, the internet finance influenced the traditional financial industry (including Banks, securities, funds, insurance) in that year, and it is trying to create new industrial chain, the traditional industry is being confused. "No rules, no games", however, in the period of potential development, the necessity and complexity of supervision on the internet finance become a new subject for government. As an emerging industry, the global internet finance supervision is still in the stage of exploration and development, which has not yet formed a global regulatory system. This paper is about to the internet finance innovation, and puts forward constructive suggestions about regulatory approach according to Chinese national conditions, regulatory concept and supervision mechanism from the point of government regulation.This paper is divided into six parts:the first part is the introduction, which introduced background, research significance, research methods, innovations and shortcomings, and briefly summarizes the research achievements of predecessors. The second part describes the internet finance and traditional finance, introduces the main business model of internet finance, and using the method of SWOT to analyze their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The third part sums up the history and status of internet finance supervision in our country. The fourth part summarizes the status of overseas internet finance regulatory and enlightenment of supervision principles for our country. The fifth part, from the perspective of functional supervision development, puts forward new thoughts, new countermeasures for government supervision in China. The sixth part summarizes that the author’s writing experience and purpose.
