Study On The Countermeasures Of China’s Wooden Furniture Exports To EU Green Trade Barriers

As a major wooden furniture producer and exporter, China must abide by the EU green barriers, which have become the main obstacle for its wooden furniture export. Thus, theoretical and empirical research on how China’s wooden furniture export can cope with the EU green barriers would be very relevant to grasp the trend of EU’s current policy and improve the healthy development and international market share of China’s wooden furniture. Moreover, this research is of great theoretical and realistic significance in advocating competitiveness of the wooden furniture industry in China. Based on the world-shaking change of international market, a precise reading on the whole system of EU green barriers also brings various recommendations and coping strategies on dealing with other trade barriers or trade restrictions for wooden furniture export enterprises in China.This thesis takes progressive approach to raise, analyze and resolve issues. It sums up the overall situation of China’s wooden furniture exports from two main aspects, namely, export volume and market allocation. It explains the EU green barriers, related concepts, characteristics and its effects in detail to discover its motivations behind. It analyzes the current export problems against the backdrop of the EU barriers. The study is carried on from five factors to establish the affecting actors’ evaluation index system on replying EU green barriers. The thesis finds out the negative impact of EU green barriers with building gravity model and brings various recommendations and coping strategies on this issue accordingly.
