Evaluation Research On The Industrial Innovation Capability Of Western Region Based On Factor Analysis And Cluster Analysis

The innovation-driven being lifted as a national strategy, and become the only way to enhance the national competitiveness. “13th Five-Year plan ”stressed:“innovation is the first power to lead the development, and innovation must be placed at the core of the development of the nation.” The enhancement of National competitiveness is inseparable from the promotion of regional competitiveness; the western region has become the short board having a influence to the competitiveness of a country. However, in order to achieve the promotion of the regional competitiveness, the key point depends on the industrial innovation. In order to improve the regional competitiveness in the western region, which must depend on industry innovation to enhance the industrial competitiveness. Therefore, it is extremely significance to study the industrial innovation capability of the western region.Firstly, this paper summarizes the relevant theories of industrial innovation, and builds the evaluation index system of industrial innovation capability in the western region. Secondly, using the factor analysis method calculate the comprehensive score of the industrial innovation ability of 30 provinces in the whole country from 2007 to 2013. Third, based on the factor analysis, the industrial innovation capability of the whole country and the western region is analyzed. Fourth, on the basis of factor analysis and cluster analysis, the regional comparative study of industrial innovation capability of the western region is carried out, and the factors that affect the innovation ability of the industry are analyzed.Study found that western industrial innovation has the following problems:(1) The industrial innovation capability of the western region of China as a whole is low, at the level of the middle and lower reaches;(2) Under the conditions of the industry innovation, and environment is getting better and better, and other areas still exist a large gap;(3) On the government to support the dependence is too high, lack of innovation and vitality of the enterprise, innovation main body status is not very prominent.(4) within the western region innovation ability of industry development is not balanced, showing a trend of polarization. Therefore, the paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the industrial innovation capability of the western region.
