This paper uses the gray correlation analysis and the VAR model to analyze the relationship between the Pearl River Delta port group and the hinterland economy, the study is based on the historically annual throughput of container of major ports in the Pearl River Delta and the total production value of hinterland provinces, processing and analyzing the selected economic indicators, and then through gray correlation analysis,it found that the throughput of container of major ports in the Pearl River Delta group was positively correlated with the economic growth of the hinterland economy, meanwhile, the development of the hinterland economy to a certain degree, has promoted the development of the port group, By futher dividing the hinterland of Pearl River Delta port group, it found that the throughput of container of major ports in the Pearl River Delta group had a different port hinterland when it is specific to the single economic indicators, Finally, through VAR model analysis,it found that there is a longstanding and stable relationship between the total production value of the hinterland in the Pearl River Delta group and the throughput of container of ports, which impacts and facilitates with each other, Besides, the role of the economic development of hinterland in promoting the port is not very obvious in the short terms, but in the long run,it will become increasingly evident to the Pearl River Delta port group. Several conclusions could be draw from the results decsribed above,First, mutual coordination should be strengthened among the Pearl River Delta port group, meanwhile, Second the construction of the transportation network should be accelerated in the hinterland of the Pearl River Delta, thus furthering promote the development between the port group and the hinterland region. |
