| Through elaborating the basic situation of the fishery in Henan Province, this article summarized the main achievement which the fishery in Henan Province obtained, analyzed the factors which has restricted the development of the fishery, proposed the direction for the sustainable development and the countermeasures for the promotion of fishery. The main findings are as follows:1. Elaborate the basic development situation of the fishery in Henan Province The fishery development in Henan Province has experienced five stages approximately. Henan Province has the total water surface of more than 470 thousand hectares, in which more than 300 thousand hectares may breed fish, more than 100 thousand hectares may plant the aquatic economical plants. Henan Province has more than 400 thousand of pond barrages with an area of 140 thousand hectares; 2347 reservoir with an area of more than 130 thousand hectares; 111 lakes with the water surface of 4000 hectares. Henan has more than 610 thousand hectares of paddy rice areas, among which nearly more than 270 thousand hectares are suitable for the fish raising.Henan Province has many kinds of fish and aquatic animals. 129 kinds of fish are distributed in the province, among which there are 60 kinds of main economical fish, Henan Province has about one hundred kinds of Aquatic economical animals and has aquatic wild animal giant salamanders and the yellow cyclemys trifasciata.The province is rich in resources for fishery development and pays great attention to the utilization of fishery resources including rivers, lakes, reservoirs. The development trends for the fishing for fishery, aquatic product crop production and aquatic products raising are different.The fishery organization’s development impelled the development of the fishery in Henan Province.2. Summarized the main achievement of the Henan Province fishery obtains(1) Fishery productivity enhanced remarkably.(2) Aquatic product quality promoted unceasingly.(3) Second and tertiary industry of aquatic product developed rapidly, and the capacity of aquatic product to earn foreign exchange through exports improved unceasingly.(4) Resources maintenance work obtained the new result.(5) Pay attention to fishery safety and the fisheries administration and ship inspection work obtained the new breakthrough.3. Analyze the existence questions in the development of the fishery in the Henan Province(1) Some local administration department has not promoted the fishery to an industrial position.(2) The investment in fishery is insufficiency and the foundation is bad.(3) Fishery overall productivity is quite low and the whole utilization level is low. Development level is not balanced.(4) Fishery structure readjustment step is not quick and the fishery support system is not perfect.(5) Fishery management structure at all levels of is not perfect.4.
