A drum shearer, as a main equipment of mechanized coal mining, has the advantage of high productivity and high efficiency, strong adaptability, is widely used in coal mining of various geological conditions. A spiral drum, as the most critical components of shearer, it's design directly affects the performance of the whole machine. Because the design of spiral drum has many design parameters and great freedom degree, so using parametric design method is an effective way to improve the quality and efficiency of design of the drum.In this paper, the relations among the various factors are researched through the analysis of the principle and form of picks arrangement, the formation process and method of cutting pattern and the model of picks force and drum loads. The visualization system of shearer spiral drum design is developed out using MATLAB GUIDE function design visualization system and organized corresponding software programs.The visualization system of shearer spiral drum is completed through entering the drum design requirement and coal rock parameters in the visualization interface of MATLAB GUIDE, the pick arrangement patterns, the corresponding cutting sequence patterns, the cutting order patterns, the drum loads simulation curve under various design parameters are image and intuitive displayed,and the optimization of the design results can be conducted.The design theory and method of the shearer spiral drum are introduced,study the influence of cutting performance of shearer drum in various working conditions is researched, there is a certain role in guiding the design of shearer spiral drum made by the research and achievement, which has important significance to improve the design quality and level of shearer drum, improve the cutting performance of shearer...
