Under the influence of increasingly international competitiveness and the integration of the global economy,industrial agglomeration has become a worldwide economic phenomenon,and feature gathering area appears accompanied by this phenomenon.Industrial agglomeration can form scale economy,can bring capital overflow,technology spillovers,and knowledge spillover effect and promote the rapid development of the regional economy.When promoting the economic development,industrial agglomeration needs to consume amounts of resources,and environmental pollution appears.Environmental problem has become the biggest challenge of developing a strategic industry cluster.Thus,studying on the relationship between industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution is the key to promote industrial clustering and environmental development Exploration.This paper studies the relationship between industrial agglomeration of various periods and environmental pollution by summaring the literature on the basis of the theory,using the product life cycle,economies of scale,technical effects and structural effects of environmental Kuznets curve,the research suggests that an industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution has an N-type curve trajectory.Secondly,through the calculation of location entropy method,we calculate the entropy index of 31 provinces in our country and find that the industrial agglomeration in general is still in the middle and lower level;we analyze the environmental pollution in China,found that the pollution emissions intensity is on the decline on the whole,the present situation of the emissions in general is slowing.Finally,based on IPAT model,we join the industrial concentration variables,forming new IPATM model as the foundation,using panel data of 31 provinces in 2004-2013 to do empirical analysis.Empirical structure shows that the industrial agglomeration and industrial emissions,industrial wastewater emissions and industrial solid waste production amount more linear,the relationship between industrial concentration on the negative external effect;Industrial concentration and industrial so2 emissions present n-type curve relationship and the first and most of the provinces in our country is still in the n-type curve on the left side of the area of the inflection point;between industrial concentration and industrial soot emissions presents the comparison n-type curve relationship,most provinces in the first turning point on the left side of the comparison N type curve playing a positive external effects.Based on this conclusion,this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to realize the coordinated development of industrial agglomeration and the environment optimization.
