Along with the construction and development of reform and opening up, the design capacity of chemical production project is increasingly large, which brings the complex structure, complicated process, long construction period and more related institutes, etc. The schedule management is the important part in project management. It plays an important role in improving the project economic benefits and bringing social benefits to EPC general contractor, which make the company have the advantage in the market competition and guarantee the sustainable development of the company. It is the main phase that the engineering design phase which determine the whole construction project's value. In recent years, the project risk management is widely used in the developed industrial countries. Practice has proved that the effective schedule plan management of project design stage is one of the core tasks of the quality, and is one of the central tasks of the whole engineering construction stage.In this paper, study on an EPC general contracting mode chemical project of D company which is under construction in north China.Combined with chemical engineering general contracting mode characteristics, theory and method of project management, from the preparation of project schedule, factors affecting the progress of the work breakdown of these aspects of the Project Management and schedule control plan to conduct a comprehensive and detailed analysis.With the Project schedule management theory as a tool. Is based on the analysis of the characteristics and difficulties of the project design phase to analyze the progress control,use of WBS decomposition tool to form a work breakdown structure. Drawing based on WBS milestone schedule control target schedule, three schedule Gantt chart and Gantt chart prepared in accordance with the double arrow network plan diagram to calculate the critical path, and the actual completion of the project schedule control point for comparison to determine project duration have no delays.To find out the factors that affect project construction schedule, the effective control method and the improved scheme. Clear all kinds of safeguard measures of schedule management.Hope that the results of the case papers, schedule control work for the future of similar EPC Mode Project Management provides management experience can learn from. Provide some useful reference to strengthen our ability to manage the progress of the petrochemical project.
