Educational wooden toys have been widely spread to today, it has a profound historical advantages and characteristics. At the same time, Faced with such more than 100 million preschool children groups, the market appeared in short supply situation. Compared with foreign design, Chinese design is not enough attention to pre-school children's psychological and behavioral characteristics. Leading to not familiar with its various stages of growth and development features and the toy function is not targeted. The purpose of this paper is to study the psychological and behavioral characteristics of pre-school children,and to combine the relevant design principles and methods to make more innovative design of educational wooden toys.First of all, this paper introduces the origin, development and classification of educational wooden toys, and analyzes the present situation, development prospect and hysteresis of domestic and foreign markets. Summed up the advantages, disadvantages and improve methods of educational wooden toys market development from various aspects.Secondly, this paper studies the physiological characteristics, cognitive characteristics,social development and psychological characteristics of preschool children in the early,middle and late stages. Combining the beneficial effects of educational wooden toys on pre-school children cognitive, personality and emotional development, healthy development and aesthetic development, from the game behavior aspects, elaborate preschool children's game behavior of the basic needs and essential characteristics.At the same time, this paper analyzes the design elements and time characteristics of wooden puzzle toys from many aspects. Combined with the toy products, put forward the five core ideas of the demand, modeling, culture, thinking and space of the educational wooden toy design. In-depth study of innovative educational wooden toys design strategy,combined with the essential characteristics of educational wooden toys and market products can be developed space,from the professional point of view of green design, improved design, innovative design, conceptual design to explore research.Finally, this paper investigates and analyzes the design elements of educational wooden toys, combined with the user needs, ideas and reality of the situation, To develop the design of toy products. Hope that through the research results of this paper can better meet the needs of users, and promote its healthy growth in the process of development, it can also provide a better idea for the research field and Promote enterprise, design industry and even the entire toy industry innovation and transformation. Make the title of China "toy production big country" into "toy design country".
