With the development of policy,economy and society,packaging industry has become an impact pillar industry in our country.Populations currently have more requirements of packaging due to not only its packing characteristics,but also its mission of inheriting corporate image,local feature and culture.Thus,packaging design has become an important subject,which shows the economic development of a nation,and the residents' living status,cultural levels and the ability of appreciation.Recently,the food market has characteristics of great variety,strong negotiability and large range of users.Therefore,the visual design of packaging is not only the carrier of cultural transmission,but also the most effective way of building a good brand image.However,the visual design of packing in our country has many shortcomings,such as lacking of feature in design of characters and over-emulating foreign designs,which make the words cannot transmit information of products distinctly and even lose its original culture meanings.According to the current market situation and existing problems,this subject combines Chinese character culture with visual design of packaging.Through the study of Chinese character,it analyses the expression of application of design and explores the relationship with visual design of packaging.Moreover,it concludes the types of applications of visual design of packaging in Chinese character culture and it also comes up with relative design principle and design methods,which is proved through practice and provides references for similar design to some extend.
