The elementary education which has intimate contact with the growth of children is always an important foundation of Chinese policy. With the change of education modes, ideas and methods, compared with traditional space for teaching, elementary schools have been becoming places to tolerate and lead pupil growing up. Besides, as educational appropriations increasing and the number of students declining, better educational policies and recourse are appearing. Local educational department and corporations focus on establish new primary schools every year. And the upsurge of campus building is coming undoubtedly. Nonetheless, the construction modes of an important proportion of primary schools in China are unitary with different contraction level. Spatial design lacks of integral flexibility and comfortableness. It is very hard to satisfy the moving requirements and behavioral of students substantially. As a result, the growing students has been incurred; educational resource has been wasted. Over the years, the point of the study of elementary school layout has come from physical environment to the users. Kinds of true examples of children behaviors and psychological needs have emerged in local. Therefore, it is really meaningful to study the relationships between campus layout and children and find out the ways to make students fitting school life.On the basis of above background, the paper gives cases of six primary schools in China. By the field surveys of layouts, learning spaces, ancillary room, it could be found that most of Chinese elementary schools have problems like rigid spaces, empirical designing styles, blocked educational environment, lacking of substantial and humanistic plans; point out school spaces should be people-oriented and combining with science. After that, the paper focuses on the connection of primary school students and the layout of schools. It considers from the both hands of macroscopic developing act theory, thoughts, language and interests, for example, microscopic organ transplant recipients mental and physical changes body image. The author also researches the features of students growing up and needs of the spaces; concludes requirements of building campus of different students. Basing on theoretical analysis and fixing with national and international designing cases, the paper dissects ideas of building elementary school space and suggests that the outstanding schools for growing up students should be flexible, openness, individuation and humanization. And then, obeying these rules totally, the paper begins to introduce strategies of establishing spaces. Through the overall organizations, studying spaces, activity spaces, ancillary room and images of space, this paper projects the methods fitting for students developing. And in the final analysis, this paper is looking forward to provide more references for the design of elementary school in this age.
