In Ship Power, marine dual fuel diesel which uses LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) as fuel has become the main developing direction. To ensure the normal operation of the dual-fuel diesel, it has important practically significance to develop a safe and reliable LNG supply monitoring system. In this paper, it designs a set of LNG supply monitoring system with upper and lower machine structure based on programmable logic controllers and WinCC configuration software with the background of the project owing to Shanghai Hudong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd.This paper makes overall introduction to the function and structure of dual-fuel diesel LNG supply system, also carries on analysis of security failures occurring in the gas supply system, and then gives the specific design of the monitoring system according to the actual monitoring requirements of LNG supply system, besides, it also provides the selection and configuration of the monitor the system’s hardware and software. Monitoring system chooses redundant PLC to set up the control system of lower machine, designing and writing the data acquisition, PID control, data communications and troubleshooting procedures, to complete the tasks of on-site data’s and equipment’s monitoring and control. PC monitoring system uses Siemens WinCC configuration software to make configuration program, through communication with the lower machine PLC, to complete the collection task of the field data; through visual configuration interface to implement the real-time display and monitoring information of workflows, production data, equipment status, etc., while providing data storage and printing reports.The upper and lower machine all use redundant design, making the function such as dynamic display of data, fault monitoring, alarm and data report output in true, and having a good safety and reliability, fully meeting the automation and information needs of management of the LNG supply monitoring system.
