The plastic cap is the main component of the contact wrist system,which is installed at the end of the wrist arm and plays an important role in protecting the wrist arm from corrosion.The new lightweight wrist needs a new type of cap products to match.Carrying out the cap forming process and mold design research,will improve the quality of cap products,and thus protect the wrist arm system is of great significance.In this paper,a new type of plastic cap is taken as the research object.Combining with simulation and experiment,the molding process and mold design of the new plastic cap are carried out based on Moldflow analysis software.The main contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)Based on the product drawings,the 3D model of the new cap plastic parts was established by using SolidWorks software,and the simulation model of plastic pipe head mold flow analysis was constructed considering its structural characteristics.(2)Based on the mold flow analysis of the plastic injection molding process,a reasonable pouring system and cooling system scheme are designed.The filling of cap plastic parts is reasonable,the heat loss is uniform,and the cooling time is short,the efficiency is high.(3)Through the design of orthogonal test and based on injection molding simulation technology,Moldflow software was used to simulate the injection molding simulation.The parameters of the injection molding process were optimized,and the parameters such as the melt temperature and the packing pressure were conducted an in-depth analysis to determine the final process plan.(4)According to the simulation results of the plastic cap,the structural design of the plastic cap mold was completed by using SolidWorks software,and the corresponding processing technology was set up for the components of the mold,and the manufacture of tube cap mold processing was completed.(5)Using the preferred injection molding process parameters,the new plastic tube cap sample preparation was completed.The sample size test results showed that the size of the sample met the requirements of the drawings,and assembled with wrist arm perfectly.The research methods adopted in this paper have some guiding significance for the research of plastic forming technology and the development of plastic mold,and the results obtained have important engineering application value.
