An Analysis Report On The Interpretation Practice Of Investing Meeting In Guilin Expo Garden

With the broader and deeper integration of global economy, China, the second largest economic entity in the world, is playing an increasingly important role in the world's economy. Nowadays, China has an intimate cooperation with rest of the world especially on aspects such as economy, trade, tourism, and entertainment. In such a new situation, the need of bilinguals increases continuously, which promotes the growth of interpreting market. As a communication channel, interpreting plays an indispensable role in transnational and intercultural communication.This dissertation is a consecutive interpreting practice report, which describes an interpreting mission responsible by the writer on 25th Oct,2014. The mission is a discussion between the Chinese company Guilin Futong Investment Co., Ltd., and the foreign company Hong Kong OURGIT Holding Limited, the theme being transforming Guilin Garden Expo Park into project of a one-stop lifestyle entertainment theme park. After getting the allowance of these two companies, the writer recorded the interpreting process.This dissertation selects the speeches of two speakers in the discussion as the main analytical content. The dissertation is divided into four chapters. Chapter one briefly introduces the task background, details and relative information. Chapter two is the process of the task, which includes the pre-interpreting preparation, unexpected matters and methods of dealing with them and post-interpreting comments from both sides. Chapter three is case analysis, which is the key section of this dissertation; in this chapter the writer summarizes the questions and analyzes them by combining with the interpretive theory of M. Lederer and the Effort Models of Daniel Gile and puts forward solutions tentatively. Chapter four is a summary, in which, the writer sums up experience and lessons from the interpreting practice and offers some advice.
