Village fair trade is a kind of commodity exchange born from the development of human society and economy. In our country, village fair trade sources from the trade around the well 4,000 years ago. People in Xiangxi area called it Xu in the past many years. In all ages, Xu are everywhere in Xiangxi area and become the main place and style of trading and communication between people from different areas, having a remarkable influence on healthy development of society and sources distribution. Xu in Huayuan is the most fullfeatured, historic, and cultural market in Xiangxi area, with old age but still full of energy. From ancient to modern times, Xu and traders in Xu have played an important role in economy development and become the special carrier of cuture for local people. Also, it develops from essential cultural and economic life to a fixed festival of culture and economy.On foundation of the investigation on the born and development of Xu, the paper uses culturology, ethnology, sociology, cultural anthropology, economics, history and communication to describe the concepts, elements, and characteristics of Xu cuture in Huayuan Miao area, by ways of literature investigation, expert interviews, field visit, logic induction and so on. The result shows that: 1. the main reason for born and development of Xu in Huayuan Miao area is the development of economy, residual products, private property, currency use and local cultural festivals. 2. systematically describing the special elements of their national customs, activity customs and life customs, and clearly raveling the connotations and functions of Xu Culture. 3. analyzing the communication patterns and ways of Xu in Huayuan Miao area. The communication of Xu Culture promotes the modernization of production and life, produces the publicity and education in village, and enriches the mental culture of Miao people. 4. discussing some problems existing in Xu Culture of Huayuan are, such as the less attention to building Xu Culture, lack of core idea of Xu Culture, lack of talents in culture communication management and so on. 5. proposing some countermeasure suggestions on the development of Xu Culture in Huayuan Miao area, such as more attention to communication education, building Xu Culture, enhancing culture idea, building good environment for Xu Culture, developing circum markets, enlarging the trade market with outside areas, increasing the culture communication, developing actively the functions of Xu, specifying the management of Xu, increasing the building of infrastructure, innovating actively tourist industry, developing economic civilization of Xu.As a special culture type, which stands on trade in Xu, attaches to society culture, and comes down in one continuous line, Xu Culture in Huayuan Miao area existed when it was born. In spite of perceiving, understanding or acknowledging from people, Xu Culture exists in nature and inherits by generations, making a special landscape of Miao' social economic culture, and becoming the culture living fossil for attracting more and more people coming to Xiangxi and Huayuan Miao areas. Hope that the paper could be a reference for other Xu Cultures, while it proposes some effective ideas about developing the communication of Xu Culture.
