In both ancient Chinese and modern Chinese the use of "(You)?" is very frequent. Linguists' research on “(You)?”is very rich, which mostly concentrated in modern Chinese, the research achievements of ancient Chinese are slightly thin. Some scholars have acknowledged the verb property of this word, but they denied that it can have the verbal object.This paper focuses on the syntactic analysis of “(You)?”. we divide the sentence into anterior and posterior segments and analyze You(?)'s subject and object. Through the description we find VP can be the object of “You”, which has no nominalization. We divide the object of “You(?)” into two kinds :Nominal ingredient and Predicate ingredient, and then we describe them respectively, emphasized on the description of predicate ingredient. Subsequently, we analyze its pragmatic effect in following aspects: its empty phenomenon, special components in the sentence and so on. Based on the analysis and the description of the structure of You(?) in Mencius, we conclude that its object can be VP and which still have the quality of verb. Pragmatic effect of the sentence of You(?) is also very rich.
