This is a translation project report of 2014 UNWTO Global Report on Shopping Tourism (chapter 2,3 & 4). The source text illustrates the profound influence of shopping tourism in economic development and reveals some existing problems in shopping tourism. Hence, the source text provides an important reference and guideline for the sound development of shopping tourism in China. The translator employs the Skopos theory as the theoretical foundation of this translation project. Skopos theory focuses on the purpose of translation and advocates that translation priority should be given to Skopos rule. Key translation methods, such as conversion, amplification, division etc. are applied in translating this text so as to convey the original information with maximum accuracy and loyalty. This report is divided into four chapters. Chapter one:translation project background; Chapter two:linguistic features of the source text and translation theory; Chapter three:translation difficulties and methods; Chapter four:experiences acquired and problems to be solved.
