At all times and in all countries, there have appeared many leaders. Some of them look far ahead from a high plane and can lead the people to create a new historical process. Some of them follow the ethical philosophy and create the trend. In the modern society, there still are leaders from a country to a company or a department. We can see that the reason why they can be called leaders is because they have done or they are doing such a thing, which is “leading their people to the place where they have never gone before”---Kissinger. We call this ability leadership. Just because leaders exist everywhere, the importance of the leadership is self-evident. An excellent leader can lead his people to succeed in any way.The study on leadership at home and abroad has been going on. For a thorough analysis of leadership may cultivate more good leaders, which are of great significance to the whole nation and even the whole country. Translating the original foreign literature into Chinese is modest contribution that the author can make, but also hope to gain from it.The translation object of this project is Leadership, which is a book about management. It is mainly about leadership and its content is plain and easy to be understood. It is suitable for beginners and managers to read.The first chapter and the second chapter are the translation objects. Before the translation, some parallel texts are searched to read which can fill the author's gap of the knowledge in this field and also can add some relevant professional vocabulary. During the process of translation, the theory of text analysis and the theory of functional equivalence are mainly used as a guide. After a detailed analysis of the text, it is concluded that this text is informative texts. Combined with the characteristics of this type of text, the author carries out the corresponding translation strategies and methods. At last, combining with problems encountered in the process of translation, we have analyzed and summarized the methods and skills of translation, which can make the final version express the original meaning more accurately. This project can provide a reference for the people who need books about management and the people who will translate such kind of context.
