Report On A Simulated Text-supported Si Task Of 2013 Hainan Provincial Agricultural Work Conference

This paper is based on a simulated task of text-supported Simultaneous Interpretation with the address made by the director of the Hainan Provincial Agriculture Department at the 2013 Hainan Provincial Agricultural Work Conference as the source text.Based on task analysis,this paper introduces the preparation that the interpreter has made,including task background and text analysis.Then,it summarizes deficiencies and causes that the interpreter encounters,such as errors and omissions,redundancy and hesitation.In addition,this paper presents difficulties such as long and complicated sentence,abbreviations and emergencies popping up during the interpreting process.Through combining theory with practice,the author puts forward corresponding countermeasures to help improve interpreting skills and serve as reference to interpretation learners in future.
