Measure words are one group of words in modern Chinese characteristic, which contains rich shades of meaning in figure, modality and style. The concept of "quantity" in Chinese is by means of vocabulary and grammar, which is quite different from Indo-European languages relying on morphological change as represented by French. As one part of Chinese measure words, near-synonymic measure words have similar meaning and in ethnicity in semantic within connection and difference; they are similar in usage, sometimes can match the same nouns or verbs, easily cause mistakes, all of those make near-synonymic measure words be difficulty in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The thesis selects 17 groups of commonly used near-synonymic measure words,and analyses the usage of near-synonymic measure words about Beijing Language and Culture University HSK dynamic composition corpus and Sun Yat-sen University students of interlanguage corpus to French speakers, sums up the mistakes on misuse.In addition, the thesis also sets up a questionnaire around 17 groups of commonly used near-synonymic measure words, through the investigation to analysis of its usage, for providing a reference for relevant teaching practice.The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part is introduction, puts the research problem forward, expounds in detail about current situation of the noumenon of measure words, current situation of near-synonymic measure words teaching in Chinese as a foreign language research and French numeral-classifier compounding structure related issues, and explains the background", the method and theoretical basis of this article.The second part is about comparing of Chinese near-synonymic measure words and French quantity related structure.By analyzing the characteristics of Chinese near-synonymic measure words, synonyms and French numeral-classifier compound structure, comparing the amount of Chinese measure words and French quantity noun from the quantity structure and semantic groups, analyses and sums up the similarities and differences between Chinese and French on quantity form.The third part is based on two commonly used corpus, containing the French native language students near-synonymic quantifier usage statistics and analysis, briefly summarizes the causes of misusage. The fourth part is about the questionnaire survey of French native language students usage of near-synonymic measure words, and summarizes on the overall usage of measure words.The fifth part is suggestions for the teaching and the teaching design.
