There are many errors occurred when the Native-speaking English learners learn the measure words for noun of Chinese. Guided by second language acquisition and interlanguage theories, based on resource of interlanguage materials, we conduct a study on the acquisition of measure words for noun by foreign students. In the research we employ several quantitative methods including statistical analysis, error analysis and questionnaire.This article firstly defines and classifies the Measure words for noun, and divides it into six kinds:individual measure words, collective measure words, portion measure words, weight and measure words, borrowed measure words and temporary measure words. From the collected interlanguage materials, individual measure words, collective measure words and portion measure words account for a larger output. The individual measure words "ge" accounts for two-thirds of the total output, and the temporary measure words account for the least output. From the results of the error analysis, error types of learners focused on two categories:wrongly used the measure words and the wrong order of these on the location. Then, we adopted the form of questionnaires to investigate the Native-speak ing English learners about the acquisition condition of the measure words for noun. The conclusion is basically consistent of the result of the analysis of interlanguage materials. According to the research results, we make suggestions on the teaching of measure words for noun.
