This translation report focuses on the translation of passive voice in the English legislative texts. Due to a lack of the Chinese version of Australian Corporation Act2001, an extract with 10,000 words from this Corporation Act(2001)is selected as the source text. In the process of translating the source text, strategies concerned with the translation of passive voice in legislative texts have been analyzed and summarized.In this translation report, the background and significance of the translation report are firstly introduced. Secondly, the author gives definition and classification of passive voice in English and Chinese on the basis of referring to existing documents,and then contrasts the passive voice between English and Chinese. Finally, the author takes examples from Corporation Act 2001 to further analyze the English-Chinese translation strategies in English legislative texts. At last, lessons and experience learned from this translation practice are discussed.
