The Relationships Among Personality Characteristics, Social Support, Subjective Well-being Of The Nursing Home For The Elderly

The old stage is the most important and the final stage in our life. There are many old people in nursing homes and retirement apartments at present, but how these old people live in nursing homes, whether they have a happy home life, and so on, we don't know. With these doubts, we investigate the subjective well-being of the 100 elderly in Kaifeng, we use Subjective well-being scale, Social support rating scale(SSRS), Eysenck personality questionnaire(Simplified Chinese version EPQ-RSC) during my research, analyze the differences between the subjective well-being of the elderly in nursing home in demographic variables and the relationship between the elderly in personality characteristics, social support and subjective well-being.The research results are as follows:1.The old man's subjective well-being is close to medium level.2.The old man's subjective well-being have significant difference in marital status, health status and the time in nursing homes.3.There is significant difference in correlation analysis between the dimensions of the old people's subjective well-being and the dimensions of the old man's personality. In terms of the subjective well-being, subjective well-being and personality extroversion E has the extremely significant positive correlation, and there is a significant positive correlation between personality neurotic P and subjective well-being.4.The old man's subjective well-being of each dimension and the social support each dimension correlation analysis. In terms of subjective well-being, the old man's subjective well-being has extremely significant positive correlation with subjective support of social support, objective support of social support, social support utilization and social support.5.Correlation analysis in each dimensions of personality characteristics for the elderly and the dimensions of social support. In terms of character extroversion E, the old man's personality extroversion E has extremely significant positive correlation with subjective support of social support, social support utilization and social support. In the aspect of personality of neurotic N, social objective support has significant negative correlation with neurotic personality N.6.The old man's social support plays a fully mediating role in the personality extroversion E and subjective well-being. But the social support has no intermediary role in the personality of nervous N and personality mental P.
