Translation is generally divided into literary translation and non-literary translation. This translation report is an informative text, belonging to non-literary translation. With the development of globalization and China's entry into WTO, the market demand for translation talents is increasing and the requirement is higher and higher.The original text is Law and Society(Chapter One An Introduction to Law and Society)(Excerpt), written by Matthew Lippmann who works in University of Illinois at Chicago. Mr. Yang, who is the author's translation teacher, introduces the translation task to the author, and the final translation will be used for publication. The author in the project is responsible for part of Chapter One of this book, from which the author selected more than 6000 words as the sample of the translation project according to the content and structure.
