Since the early 1980 s, “Combination of teaching Chinese as a second language and introduction of Chinese culture” was put forward at the teaching circle of teaching Chinese as a second language, the discussion for the positioning, modalities, principles, methods, textbooks and other issues of cultural teaching has gone to and for in constant streams. Cultural teaching and language teaching are indispensable, and the two are supplementary to each other. Cultural teaching’ carrying out can not only promote the realization of the goal of language teaching, but also help Chinese learners understand the meaning implied in Chinese, and reduce the communication barriers caused by cultural differences in the communication process.This paper analyzes and reflects of the lack of mainstream culture teaching methods at home and abroad and also puts forward to putting situational teaching method dominated other related teaching methods into foreign Chinese culture teaching, combined with theoretical knowledge of the author during graduate study and teaching experience and teaching reflection in Laos. The issues of the feasibility of “situational approach” at the culture class of Laos Confucius Institute are proved; and the specific embodiments of classroom teaching are designed and the teaching experiments are done; a preliminary reflection of the experimental procedure and results is done; Own proposals are put forward on how to improve the situational teaching in foreign Chinese culture classes on the basis of experimental reflection.Reflections on situational teaching method are hoped to promote the progress of culture teaching methods and make some of the modest means for the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
