With Beijing and Zhangjiakou's successful joint bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics, the travel agency where I worked as an intern interpreter set up a new tourism program entitled “One-Day Tour of Xuanhua”. As Miss Hill, a Pakistani student, signed up for the September 4th tour, the travel agency required me to provide guide-interpreting service for her and informed me of this on August27 th, 2015.Based on the interpreting task, this report comprises five chapters: task description, process description, preparations for interpreting, case analyses and summary. In Chapter 1 and 2, the report demonstrates how the whole task was carried out. In Chapter 3, the report, from two perspectives, theoretical preparations and practical preparations, investigates how to acquire and restructure tourism texts and communicate with the client and the docents before the on-site interpreting. In Chapter 4, the report analyzes failure and success cases in the on-site interpreting. In Chapter 5, the report summarizes the losses and gains of the interpreting task. This report carries significance in three aspects. First, as the interpreting task was conducted in real conditions, the report based on it enjoys a high level of practical significance. Secondly, since the interpreting task was related to tourism, the report analyzes how to prepare tourism texts with the help of Skopos theory. Finally, known as “First Town Northwest of Beijing”, Xuanhua boasts brilliant tourism resources and this report, in a sense, contributes to the promotion of its valuable resources.
