Nowadays, with economic globalization, the economic trades between China and other countries have become more frequent than ever before; moreover, people are increasingly yearn for the information of business opportunity overseas by economic trade books for international communication. Doing Business and Investing in Brazil is a typical book in this field. One of the outstanding features of this book is rich in postpositive attributive, especially complex postpositive attributive. In translation, the highlighted difficulty is to judge whether the postpositive attributives modify the same key word together and to understand the connotative relations between each modifier and key word. Furthermore, there are only few researches on complex postpositive attributives carried out by domestic scholars, which is a great challenge for the author to do research in this field. As for the translation of material, firstly translator should determine the definition of complex postpositive attributive which is defined based on comparison with simple postpositive attributive; moreover innermost words always follow by several postpositive attributive. Secondly, the author further divides postpositive attributives into three categories:(1) parallel postpositive attributives;(2) reverse connective postpositive attributives;(3)parallel reverse connective postpositive attributives. Thirdly, this paper discusses the three main functions of complex postpositive attributives. Based on this, the paper also puts forwards the three criteria should be conformed to in translation: quality criterion, relevance criterion and manner criterion.According to the function of complex postpositive attributives, this paper further summarizes the methods of handling the three kinds of postpositive attributives in the translation. Firstly, as for parallel postpositive attributive, if the modifier restricts and describes the key word, it can be translated into the attributive structure of the Chinese character “?”. If the modifier supplements or explains the key word, it can be translated into a commentary compound sentence or a parallel compound sentence. If the modifier is relatively long, and the antecedent acts as the subject of the main clause, the attributive clauseand the antecedent can be translated into an independent compound clause. Secondly, as for reverse connective postpositive attributives, translator should seriously analyze logical relationship between main clause and subordinate clause, and convert implicitness into explicitness, which means to convert the postpositive attributives into a modifying compound sentence in Chinese and to restore its logical semantic relation. When the component of the postpositive attributive has a close relationship with antecedent, and the attributive also restricts the key word, it can be translated into pre-attribute. When postpositive attributive does not closely relate to the antecedent and it also does not have the function of implicit adverbial modifier, to avoid repetition, the attributive can be translated into an anaphoric element. Thirdly, as for parallel reverse connective postpositive attributives, if the modifier is complex and long, in translation, it can be presented first and explained later, which means that the translator should first summarize all the modifiers and then narrates the content being modified respectively. If it is difficult to translate by one of the methods above, the translator should adjust the sentence structure based on the logical relationship in the context, and break up the whole into parts, which means to disassemble the long sentence with multiple attribute(or attributive clause) into a number of Chinese phrases and then organize the translation according to common Chinese expression.
