A Report On The English Translation Of Real Estate Appraisal Report

This thesis is a report on real estate appraisal report translation with its materials coming from the projects during the author's internship in a translation company.In this thesis,the author mainly discusses the difficulties she had experienced during the translation and specifically analyzes two appraisal reports with the method of "Case Study" and sums up some translation strategies and techniques.This thesis introduces the background,requirements and significance of the translation projects,as well as the specific requirements of the translation company.Combined with specific cases,this thesis addresses some major difficulties from the perspective of lexical and discourses when the original texts in source language are translated into target language and finds the solutions accordingly.Through the course of project analysis and case study,the author draws the following conclusions: first,translators need to do adequate preparatory work to make sense of the relevant professional knowledge and related terminology;second,translators should have a good command of language skills which are the basis of translation;finally,translators should learn to draw experiences and lessons from the previous work.After the translation is done,the translators may continuously revise and perfect the translated text to improve the translation quality as well as his or her own capability.The author hopes to improve her ability to deal with various problems during translation,and wishes that this thesis could provide some help to those MTI students who will do related translation as well as other translators.
