A Report On The Localization E-C Translation Of FactoryTalk Security System Configuration Guide From The Perspective Of Skopotheory

As the economic globalization and the localization of multi-national enterprises develop more and more quickly,a new language service called Localization grow in an explosive way.Localization is a new emerging service integrating language,information with project management,of which localization translation is a very important part.This report is based on localization translation of FactoryTalk Security System Configuration Guide.It's found that there are rules to follow in the sentence pattern when the sentences are used to describe software features or user operation.According to localization translation standards and company specification,the contents and patterns are analyzed.Then,various translation methods including Linear Translation,Amplification,Adaptation,Omission and Division are applied under the guidance of Skopostheory referring to the specific case studiesTo conclude,this report not only finds the rules of sentence patterns used in the software user guide,but also offers the corresponding translation methods as well as sharing the personal translating experience,which would be of certain practical value.This report is intended to deepen the understanding of MTI students on localization translation of software user guide and provide reference for the similar practice coming to.
