With the advancement of economic globalization,the commercial cooperation among countries in the world becomes more extensive.However,language has become the major barrier that restricts the communication among many enterprises.Thus,the role of business interpreters becomes more and more important.How to provide clients with excellent service and finish tasks perfectly?Those are the major questions for interpreters to consider.Skopostheorie is proposed by Hans Vermeer.It holds the opinion that intention decides translation methods.It provides translators and interpreters with flexibility to choose proper methods.Thus,Skopostheorie can perfectly guide interpretation practice,especially in business interpretation.This report is a case study of a business interpretation practice under the guidance of Skopostheorie.It is based on a business visit in Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion in which the author serves as an interpreter.The report mainly introduces the process of this practice and talks about how to deal with concrete problems using interpretation methods guided by Skopostheorie.Finally,the report states feedbacks from the clients and summarizes the whole practice. |
