Obesity body stereotypes are the people's innate idea about obese individuals.In previous studies,there is negative impression about obese people in society generally.This study focuses on two questions: The first is,whether human resource managers held the stereotypes to obese people in the process of enterprise recruitment.The Second is,whether such stereotypes have an impact on the process of hiring people.Therefore,this study is divided into two parts.Study 1 consists of two parts,implicit and explicit obesity stereotypes of HR were measured respectively.In the first part,the author uses the free association method,K-B method and Gardner method to explore the content and intensity of explicit stereotype about obese people,and whether there were differences between different genders in the group of HR.In the second part,self-made stereotype explanatory bias(SEB)questionnaire was applied,which is used to measure the obesity implicit stereotype of the 146 enterprise human resources management staff and explore that whether there was the gender differences in obesity implicit stereotype.Study 2 through the recruitment website search and choose 10 post,which is enterprise demand is higher or candidates are more.34 human resource managers who were not invited to participate in the experiment were asked to select out the lowest score on the demand of body type and the result was the accounting post.After that,64 human resource managers were asked to select out the virtual candidates,who got the same resume,different genders and different body shapes.Scorning on whether to hire the candidate.The purpose was to further explore whether the recruitment intention is affected by obesity shape stereotype,when the human resource manager was screening the resumes of the candidates.The study found that:1.Enterprise human resource managers have negative stereotypes about the obese people,whether they are explicit or implicit.And men are stronger than women on the strength.2.Enterprise human resource managers in the process of resume screening will be impacted by obese body stereotypes.Women who were obese were significantly less likely to be employed than obese men and normal candidates.However,there was no significant possibility difference between the male obesity and normal person who were recruited.In summary,a negative obesity stereotype universally existed in the enterprise human resource managers.This negative stereotype has a serious negative impact on the fairness of hiring.
