Human Resource Management(HRM)always draws heated debates among scholars in the world.In the 1990s,one human resource management research method,named"universality" appeared.It was proposed by some scholars.The method assumes that there is a high-performance work system with the best HRM practices,and this "ideal model"contributes to business performance maximization.Ever since then,more and more scholars in other countries have joined in the efforts of constructing an "ideal model".Two approaches "High-Performance Work Systems" and "The Best Activity" are readly popular among most researchers in human resource management in the world.This is a report concerns English translation of two papers from Human Resource Management Journal in Wiley Online Library.The selected translation materials are journal articles,which belong to the informative text.It is aimed to discuss how HR professionals are involved in the systems and the consequences of working lives under the high-performance work systems.It is found that there are close relations between human resource management and performance.The report is about the perspective of high-performance systems.After analyzing and discussing translation characteristics about informative texts,the author decides to use related translation strategies based on the informative text typology,emphasizing on the authenticity and veracity of informative texts from in the perspective of Peter Newmark.This report also employs Eugene A.Nida's Functional Equivalence theory,which focuses on the equivalence of lexical meaning,semantic equivalence,and stylistic equivalence.It includes both superficial lexical meaning and objective expression,which is to be faithful to the source text.Under the related theories,the report elucidates the author's views of translation and utilizes some translation methods and techniques when translating the excerpts of the journal articles.It is the author's objective to improve related translators' practical abilities and provide practical experience for peer students who want to do similar research.
