In modern Chinese,auxiliary is also called can-wish verb.It is a kind of special verb.Chinese auxiliary verbs are of great importance in Foreign Chinese teaching.Though communicating with Mongolian students in the author's teaching experience,the author found that they made some errors because of the misunderstanding of the Chinese auxiliary.Therefore,this thesis take the Mongolian learners of primary stage as study object,doing a survey on their usage of Chinese auxiliary by questionnaire method.The author classified the result and it shows that they have many problems in using auxiliaries.To help the Mongolian students use the auxiliaries correctly and provide viable ways and strategies for auxiliary teaching,this thesis takes the five auxiliaries can,be able to,may,want to and must as the object to dig out the reasons for misuse and raise teaching strategy.The five auxiliaries are chosen because they are used most frequently for the Mongolian students in their daily communication.The thesis consists of introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction part states the purpose and significance of studying Chinese auxiliaries first,and then a summary of the existing research achievement.The research content and research methods are included atlast.The text consists of four parts.The first part is about a survey on Chinese auxiliary learning for Mongolian students.This part inspects the errors when Mongolian students using Chinese auxiliaries.The second part classifies the errors that appear when Mongolian students using Chinese auxiliaries.This part classifies four kinds of errors according to the survey result in the first part.The four kinds of errors are the meanings confusing of the Chinese auxiliaries and meanings overlapping,negative language transfer,applying the target language mechanically and the influence of teaching ways and teaching methods.The fourth part raises the methods of teaching Mongolian students Chinese auxiliaries according to the four reasons that causing the errors.The methods include intensifying the comparative and analytic research of Chinese auxiliaries,paying more attention to the classification and summary of common errors and improving the teaching ways and teaching methods.The conclusion part reiterate the important position of Chinese auxiliaries in foreign language teaching and summarize the achievement and shortage of the thesis.
